Finish your year like a BOSS!

People, listen up, here you are... the year is almost done, and regardless of where you are... whether you are caught up, behind, passing or failing, it's time to muster up whatever you've got left in that brain and body of yours, and let's cross this finish line in style.  My friend, it's all about working the problem... don't make it about something else... just work the problem... in fact this is such a critical skill that I want you to become a pro at.  We can get tripped up on so many things, and get in our head about what we can do, and can't do... or how other people will think, or what they'll say or won't say... or whether you're this kind of person, or that kind of person... forget all that, and just work the problem.  I don't know if you've seen the movie Apollo 13, but there is such a cool part in that movie, where basically these astronauts who were headed for the moon, experience problem after problem, to the point that it begins to look like they are not even going to make it back... they were going to die in space!  Well the team gets together, and initially they begin to just fight with each other, blaming each other, looking at all the things that went wrong, and all that could go wrong... and at one point the leader or team stops everyone, and just straight up reaims everyone's focus by saying... people, people... let's work the problem!  So learn to work the problem... do what works... do what is effective... focus your efforts and energy on working the problem, instead of blaming, or falling into a pit of self-pity, or getting stuck in a head-cycle of "I can't do this, or that, or the other..."  Listen to me... those thoughts don't matter, they're unimportant, they're not inspiring action... in fact they are sucking you dry out of confidence and energy.  Take that simple phrase and write it in your brain, in your heart... 'work the problem'.

I'm reminded of einstein's brilliant quote regarding this concept... he said "it's not that I'm smarter than other people... it's that I can stay with a problem longer."  My friends the time for you to grow your emotional muscles is here.  The time for you to grow and nurture a stellar mindset is right here, right now.  You can handle anything.  No failure is fatal.  Don't get stuck on what you haven't done... you have to begin NOW!  Right now.  Shift your focus... reset and move forward.  Doesn't matter where you are, you are taking a step today, and moving in the direction of a solution.  Listen, your education is one of the most important investments in your life... don't argue with me... it's true... it's literally money in the bank.  The more you pursue it, the more money you'll likely have in the bank, and more importantly, the more freedom you will have in this life.  I know there are other ways, and other people... but give yourself a chance for heaven's sake... quit sabotaging your life... aim big!

So here are three simple tips for you to implement right now!

1-Realize... This is what I need to be doing right now!  Don't resent it, do't resist it, all of your other interests can take a back seat for a moment.  Invest right here... your gaming can wait, your other forms of entertainment can wait for a moment... it's time to go all in, to step into the ring and go bonkers in there!  We have to spring, and now is the time.

2-If you need help... ask for it!  Listen... you have a team, a network of people that can help, that want to help... but you have to make your voice known, it's got to be heard.  Go to your parents, to your teachers, to your school counselor Now... not tomorrow (okay, maybe tomorrow), but go quickly, and speak your mind.  Say these words "i need a little help... what can i do?  Can you help me with my classes, with these assignments... Your anxiety, nervousness, social skills are unimportant right now... it's time for 20 seconds of courage, and for a real conversation about what needs to be done, and how people can help.  Take the step... get out of that comfort zone, and into the courage zone my friend.

3-When you know what needs to be done, it's time to make a plan to make it work.  Schedule it on your phone, or your calendar, tell your parents, organize your friends in that class... do whatever it takes to finish.  If you leave it all to chance, or 'when I have time' it's never going to happen.  Write it somewhere, tell someone, and let's gooooo!

Don't get stuck in "it's too late" "i'm too far behind" I know those thoughts well... i"ve thought them, but now it's time to work the problem, instead of predicting a catastrophic outcome.  Do what you can, and then we can say... "well i did all I could..." at least at that point you can end honorably and maybe learn some wisdom so you can do a bit better next time... you're here to grow friend, and that is what must happen for your happiness to flourish.  Now get out there and simply Work the problem!  Let that motto guide the last weeks of school.
